I just got a 6 mo old himalayan kitten, she is extremely aggressive, what do I do?
We just got her last night and since then she has attacked me twice. One the 1.5 hr ride home she was scared but done ok. As soon as we got home, she started growling and hissing at us, even at our 5 yr old son. I don’t know what if anything I can do to calm her down. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

new surroundings, strange people, cat is scared. She’ll get over it eventually.
I used to breed and show "Himmies". Their nature is quiet and loving. Your new cat is in strange surroundings and needs time to adjust to her new home. Try letting her have a room of her own for a day or so. Give her a nice litter pan and food. Once she becomes familiar with the smells and sounds, she’ll come around and be a loving pet.
Sounds like the breeder didn’t socialize her very well or didn’t tell you about her background. Did you buy this cat from a pet shop? If so, they come from kitten mills or backyard breeders where they don’t get proper treatment or socialization.
Its not a normal reaction. Yes a new cat/kitten may be shy or hiss a little when you first get them before they know you, but that’s usually directed to other animals – not to people.
I would put her in a quiet room for a few weeks and slowly get her used to the family. And your 5 yr old cannot be around the cat unless he is very quiet and not yelling or scaring her.
