do you mean a 6 week old Persian kitten or a 6 year old cat?
fyi – the amount of time spent napping varies from cat to cat, and depends on the cat’s age and personality, felines spend an average of 13 to 16 hours each day curled up in slumber. they are most active at dusk and dawn. the cat’s diet may play an important role in its sleep patterns. the modern indoor cat sometimes sleeps out of boredom. if you cat feels safe, comfortable and the temperature is right then you can expect her to sleep or have a few catnaps here and there.
60? It’s dead. It ain’t sleeping. Get another cat.
Well, it doesn’t usually depend on the kind of cat you adopted. A healthy cat/kitten sleeps at least sixteen hours a day. Kittens do take time adapting to their new surroundings. At first they may meow or cry a lot; this is their call to their mother/father/brothers/sisters. Your kitten may also hide a lot, or react strangely to loud noises. The best way to let your cat settle is to let him/her calm down and explore your home. It may just be nervous because it is surrounded by people taller than him/her, and it’s alone in an unfamiliar place. Give it some time, and if that doesn’t work, and it is depressed (ways to decipher depression in cats: no appetite, loss of sleep, no play, etc.) consult your local veterinarian.
